Craft Group

This is a group for anyone who enjoys making things. Tuition is given and all materials are provided. There is a small charge of £2.50 per session which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. We have been meeting regularly for about 8 years and always have lots of fun. We usually make cards but sometimes branch out into something a little different. We meet in the church hall each Wednesday in school term time at 9.30- 11.30. in the morning. Please come and be part of the group we would love to meet you and you will be very welcome. Bring your friends, if you like making things you will fit in very well. See you soon.

Friday Night Ladies’ Night

We like to think that our Friday night ladies' nights begin with a capital 'F' - for fun, friendships, films, festive occasions - and food!

For those who are not familiar with our timetable we meet on the second Friday of most months in the church hall at 7.30p.m., excluding the holiday months of April and August. We have a lively group of ladies who regularly support our events and we are always looking to welcome others to join us. Our evenings are completely open to everyone in the community, with or without any church connections, and the only qualification is to be female!

Over the years we have enjoyed a varied programme of speakers, artistic and energetic activities, games and films - something for everyone, we hope, and most importantly, all accompanied by good food!

However, our Friday nights are about much more than eating! Over the course of the past year we have competed fiercely against one another at skittles, tried our hand at flower arranging, shared items and memories from our holidays and deepened our fellowship together during a summer evening walk.

We hope that many more ladies of all ages will feel inclined to come along and try out some of our evenings. We can assure you of a warm welcome and look forward to sharing faith, fun and fellowship together.

Prayer Group

Each Wednesday morning at 7.30 am a small group meets in the Prayer Room to pray together. The Thursday Office Team also have a time of prayer, to pray particularly for prayer requests received via the church website, but also for general prayer, other requests, mission and other worldwide issues.

Our Prayer Diary has been in print for a number years. This is based around our church activities and groups, the local churches and the wider community are also included. The Prayer Diary is not intended to cover everything, but is meant to be a gentle prompt to your private prayers. Prayer requests can be submitted, anonymously, if you wish via our Prayer Request page. We receive many requests, some from this country, local, and others from the USA, Thailand, Malawi and Canada. You can still request prayer personally, or write out a request and leave in the blue heart-shaped box in church.

Thursday Afternoon Fellowship

We are a group of ladies and gentlemen of the older age group who meet in the Emsworth Baptist Church hall on alternate Thursday afternoons at 2:15 p.m.. We have a varied programme of speakers and activities which we hope will encourage and interest our members. The group is open to anyone and it is our pleasure to welcome new guests whenever they arrive.

We have enjoyed a Strawberry Teas in July and a Christmas Tea in December both of which are attended by large numbers of people, many of whom do not have any other regular contact with a Church. Our meetings are both spiritual and fun, always giving time for us to get to know each other over a cuppa and in a relaxed and non-threatening atmosphere. Another annual event is a coach outing to a place of interest and usually involves a lovely tea at another Baptist Church. We are often joined by friends from Portsmouth churches.

If you would like to come to our meetings, we meet on the 1st and 3rd. Thursday in every month except August (when we have a two day “Holiday at Home”). On the occasional 5th Thursday we just have tea and a chat about any topic of concern. Its always popular and new friends are made.
