So, Why Should I Give?

Everything we do is entirely self-funded by gifts from kind people like you. Giving financially, regularly and sacrificially helps us to sustain our life together as a church family, support all of our developed and emerging ministries, and engage in mission in the community.

But we’re not just asking for your money! We’re inviting you to be part of the journey and to partner with us as we bring God’s hope and love to our generation, our town and the nations. We passionately believe that God can do incredible things through our church. If you do too, please consider giving today.

Boost Your Giving With Gift Aid!

We can claim 25p back for every £1.00 that is given to us by UK taxpayers, directly from HM Revenue & Customs. This makes a huge difference!

If you would like to Gift Aid your giving to us, either pick up a declaration by our Giving Station next time you’re at ours or fill in our online form.

 Gift Aid FAQs

  • You are eligible if you are a UK taxpayer and declare that you would like us to claim the tax back on your donations. This will not increase your tax payments. Unfortunately, we are unable to claim Gift Aid from you if you are not a taxpayer or if the tax you pay is below the amount to be reclaimed.

  • Please notify us if you:

    • Change your name or home address whilst your declaration is still in force.

    • Want to cancel your declaration. It will then not apply to donations you make on or after the date of cancellation, or such later date as you specify.

    • No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

  • If you pay income tax at the higher or additional rate, Gift Aid has the effect of extending the basic rate band by the amount donated. Just include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

  • There is provision for us to claim Gift Aid on any of your previous giving to EBC within the past four years. Please ensure you tick this box as you fill in the declaration in our Giving Guide.

  • For more information about Gift Aid, please speak to Simon, our treasurer. You can also visit the UK government website at: www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid
