I’m New

We want you to feel right at home

We really value everyone who comes to EBC and desire to make your time with us positive and worthwhile. As you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly Welcome Team in the foyer who will be there to say hello, get you a hot drink if you’d like, and point you in the right direction.

The information below should give you a better idea of what to expect if you’re with us on a Sunday, but please
get in touch if you have any questions!

Sunday Gatherings

  • Every Sunday starts with a variety of hot drinks available from 9.30am, giving us the chance to spend time together before our gathering begins at 10.00am. Each Sunday is unique, but generally we will spend time worshipping God through singing, prayer and Bible readings. Someone will announce any upcoming events and our children and young people go to spend time in their own groups. One of our pastors or a guest-speaker will then share a message from the Bible, sometimes as part of a series or theme or sometimes just as a one off. Regardless, prepare to be informed, challenged and inspired.

  • Our Sunday Gatherings usually last about an hour and fifteen minutes, finishing around 11.15am.

  • You're really welcome to stay for a hot drink and chat after the our gathering. We'd love to talk and get to know you a bit better. If you would like prayer, either of our pastors, leadership team or member from our prayer team will gladly spend some time with you too.

  • That's easy! Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, whether that is shorts or jeans, shirts or hoodies, suits or dresses. We are an informal church and there is no dress code.

  • Our building is fully accessible to those in wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We have a toilet with disabled access as well as and parking spaces directly outside the building for those who need them. Copies of the songs lyrics with large print are available if you would like, and there is a T loop sound system for those who need.

  • Have a chat with our Welcome Team, who are stationed throughout the building every Sunday morning. They will be pleased to give you a Information Pack and answer any questions you may have.

Children & Youth

EBC Kids

Kids’ Church is for any children aged between 4 and 11 years old. We meet all year round for about an hour during the morning service.

We begin together with a time of worship, including a song, Bible story or theme and a prayer time, then divide into groups to explore the Bible message in greater detail, at an age appropriate level, through discussion, games and crafts. Each month’s lessons explore a particular Christian characteristic, with a monthly memory verse, and each week there is a practical application of what the week’s story means in our own lives.

To encourage the children in their faith journey, they are given a sheet of Bible readings and prayers to do at home during the week. We also supply ‘cue cards’ to help parents/carers support and encourage their children.

EBC Youth

We want to equip our young people to live in faith and know the freedom that God has for them. On Sunday mornings, our young people join the weekly Sunday Gathering for the first 20 minutes before heading out to EBC Youth for games, a short talk, discussion and prayer.

EBC Youth is for young people aged 11 - 14.

All staff and volunteers working with children, young people and adults at risk at EBC are required to pass an enhanced DBS check. Safeguarding at EBC is of the highest priority.
